General Services

What we do:  
 

Lois Ryan leads the General Services unit, providing services to agencies over a wide range of Human Resource areas, covering general and specialized technical issues. The General Services' primary goal is to provide customer service that both supports and assists agencies as they manage HR functions and programs to meet their agency needs. The team is available to assist agencies with requests and inquiries, or as a sounding board. Some examples of technical specialty services include Recruitment, Performance Review/Management, Layoffs and Furloughs, Training, Diversity, EEO and Employee Relations. General Services is also responsible for the development and management of the Division’s partnerships with the agencies and the overall coordination of the HR Teams.

Data Management

What we do:  

 
Connie Guerrero leads the Data Management unit, which includes the administration of the Statewide Human Resource and Payroll (SHARP) System and Internet application development and maintenance.  The SHARP Help Desk provides assistance on employee and position transaction entry in SHARP.  Data Management provides regular reports and ad hoc queries in support of the Division's efforts and in response to agency requests for a wide range of reports on workforce and position data.  The unit also handles questions on, and provides support in, Time and Leave, Inclement Weather, Shared Leave and Donor Leave.

Policy and Compliance

What we do:  

Danelle Harsin leads the Policy and Compliance unit. This unit is responsible for administering the State’s classification, compensation and performance management policies. Team members conduct research and analysis on human resource programs and propose and lead initiatives to develop and implement statewide personnel policies and programs. The unit also coordinates and tracks legislative activities, develops and maintains the State’s personnel regulations, coordinates statewide initiatives for the hiring of veterans, and administers the State’s alcohol and drug screening programs.
