Avoid during Accessibility reviews

Main Menu

  • Skipping establishing accessibility settings if you cannot figure out the problem.

    • Run the issue through Google for an answer, check resources, ask for help.

    • The content is not accessible if the issues have not been resolved.

  • Ignoring or Bypassing the Logical Order and Color Contrast manual validations in PDFs without checking the document first.

    • Tools help identify things, but they are not all encompassing.

    • If the order is not correct or color contrast is low, the content is not accessible.

  • Marking images/illustrations as decoration if they convey meaning.

  • Creating images with text being a part of the image (other than logos or buttons).

  • Putting unmeaningful text into image or illustration alt text boxes.

  • Not reviewing the Document Title and verifying that it makes sense.
