Office of Public Affairs

Welcome to the Office of Public Affairs. The office is charged with executing internal and external communications for the Department of Administration, including contact with media, assisting with Kansas Open Records Act requests and coordinating with other agency public information officers. The agency publishes a monthly newsletter, Connected, that is distributed to all Department of Administration employees.

The office also serves as the legislative liaison between the agency and the Kansas Legislature. The office works with legislators, the governor's office and other state agencies on policy matters and provides information to help guide decisions.

Department of Administration launching 2015 Holiday Giving Drive

Employees of the Kansas Department of Administration are conducting their annual Holiday Giving Drive to benefit three organizations in Greater Topeka.

The designated organizations are the Downtown Sandwich Ministry, Topeka Rescue Mission and Helping Hands Humane Society. Suggested items are listed below and they may be placed in boxes located in state office buildings in the Capitol Complex. Monetary donations will be accepted in Suite 500 of the Curtis State Office Building.

The drive begins Monday, November 30 and concludes Friday, December 18. Please help us spread some good cheer in our community during this holiday season.Holiday Giving Logo 2015

Fold-top sandwich bags
No. 8 paper lunch bags
Sandwich cookies
Individual-sized bags of chips such as Lays varieties or Doritos

Topeka Rescue Mission
Non-perishable food such as creamed soups, tuna, oats, canned vegetables, coffee, chicken broth, peanut butter, pancake syrup; Infant formula, baby food

Helping Hands Humane Society
Dry or canned pet food; small, chewy pet treats; gently used towels; dog and cat  toys
