Detour to Surplus Property facility in Topeka announced

Aug 26, 2014

The road to the Department of Administration’s Surplus Property facility in Topeka is temporarily closed for construction. Visitors will need to access the facility from East Circle Dr. N, just south of the normal Kanza entrance off of MacVicar Ave.

Visitors should take East Circle Dr. N to the west until it veers off to the right (north). Next, they will turn right (east) on Center Bldg. Dr.

After following Center Bldg. Dr., visitors should take the next available right (south) at the unmarked silver building. At this point they’ll be right across from the surplus building and can simply follow the road across the street to access the Surplus Property building.

The Surplus Property program distributes used property to state agencies, non-profit and other government organizations, as well as the public. The facility is open from 8-4:30 Monday through Friday. For more information about the program, go to or call 785-296-2351 or 785-296-2334 if further instruction is needed.

The KDOA anticipates the main entrance to the Surplus Property facility will be closed until November. The agency has marked the alternate route to the facility with signs to help guide traffic.
