Welcome to KanTrack, a dashboard of performance measures for Kansas Executive Branch Cabinet level agencies dedicated to the promise of efficient and responsive government. Established by EXECUTIVE ORDER 18-07: Evaluating and Measuring Government Performance by Gov. Jeff Colyer, M.D., the site provides a dashboard of measures for each agency. Where possible, the measures contain a five year trendline as well as quarterly data from the current year.
“In my time as governor, I’ve had the opportunity to hear from numerous Kansans, who express their desire for well-managed, efficient and accountable government operations. I know that transparency is the key to better accountability and accountability is the key to better results,” said Governor Colyer. “This website is an important step towards increasing transparency and renewing public confidence in government.”
This version of KanTrack represents a starting point rather than a finished product. Improvements will be made over time to enhance interpretation of measures and outcomes. Also, changes may be made to the agency performance measures currently listed. Through the Performance Based Budgeting project, efforts are underway to evaluate agency measures and increase their usage throughout state government. More information regarding Performance Based Budgeting can be found at https://budget.kansas.gov/pbb-resources/.
