The Matrix Model for Teens and Young Adults consists of research-based techniques integrated into an approach that includes individual sessions, family sessions, group sessions, Twelve Step programs, and separate parent and adolescent substance-education groups. Addressing Substance Abuse (SA) by youth reduces the risk of continued dependency and abuse, thereby reducing risk to the public upon release. The goal is to identify and serve all youth who demonstrate this need.

In some cases, quarterly data has been annualized to provide a better comparison to prior fiscal years.  Generally, measures that use percentages have been annualized.  This prevents distortions in the quarterly data that may occur because of smaller populations sizes.  Measures that show the numbers of incidents, activities or individuals reflect actual numbers for the quarter.  This allows users to see progress from one quarter to the next towards identified goals.
