The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) currently has a vacancy for an unclassified Executive Director. The KCC is a multi-faceted agency responsible for regulating public utilities including electric, natural gas, telecommunication and water companies as well as motor carriers, oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas natural production. The Commission’s headquarters is in Topeka with the central Conservation office in Wichita and four Conservation district offices located in Chanute, Dodge City, Hays and Wichita.
Description of Work: The Executive Director manages the support divisions of the agency, serves as the Secretary to the Commission, receives communication, confidential information and requests for confidential information on behalf of the Commission; receives filings made with the Commission; and performs other functions necessary to aid the administration of the Commission as required. The Executive Director shall be responsible for the annual development and implementation of a Commission-wide strategic plan.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Prefer an advanced degree such as MBA, MPA or law degree. Broad and extensive experience in public administration or experience in managing a business or business unit and/or experience as a member of senior management in a corporate or government environment. Specific skills in public speaking and organizational communications; qualitative and quantitative analysis; principles of management and supervision; business and technical writing.
Salary: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 annually
