The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Architect III for our Central Office Facility Management Division located in Topeka, KS.

This position is responsible for providing architectural services for the Department, primarily in the areas of renovation and construction of corrections facilities. This is licensed professional administrative architectural work responsible for a major program in the design,review and/or modification of buildings and construction systems of large projects.

Salary Range $60,000-$71,000 depending on demonstrated skills, experience, and education. Unclassified (At-Will), Full-Time, Exempt, Benefits Eligible.
Minimum Qualifications: Professional architecture license recognized by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions and five years of experience as a licensed architect.
Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications: Experience in developing construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates for complex buildings and building modifications. In addition, the incumbent has knowledge federal and state laws, regulations, policy and procedures pertaining to building design and construction.
Necessary Special Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Professional architecture license recognized by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
