This position requires professional level performance and expertise in economics, econometrics, and statistical research and analysis, including: researching, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data from local, national and international sources; analyzing effects of taxes, incentives and fiscal policy on state taxpayers and/or state expenditures; prepare, reporting and presenting results in clear, concise and diplomatic manner. Reports, suitable for publication, are prepared based on statutory requirements and in response to inquiries from the Governor, legislators or staff, other state agencies, and the general public. The position operates under direction of the Research Director, and will perform other tasks as assigned.

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR EVERY APPLICANT:

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. Applicants are responsible for submitting a valid certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in business, public finance, accounting, statistics, public administration or economics and three years’ experience collecting evaluating, studying and reporting statistical economic, fiscal, budget, legislative or administrative data. Additional experience in the areas listed above may be substituted for the required education and determined relevant by the agency.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in economics or related field, Masters Degree or Ph.D in Economics or related field. At least four years work experience in field of economics.
