A Corrections Officer II is responsible for assisting with the public safety by exercising safe and effective containment and supervision of offenders, by managing offenders in the community, and by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens. This position is full performance corrections work involving control and supervision of adult male felons in a correctional facility. Duties involve enforcement of rules and regulations; controlling offenders in living, work or recreational areas; ensuring safety and security of staff offenders, and the public; and serving as the officer-in-charge.
Must meet all minimum qualifications and necessary special requirements for COI A; have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the field of corrections or in the detention of convicted offenders; and have successfully completed the Corrections Officer Training Program (COTP).
At the discretion of the agency, relevant college coursework or completion of corrections officer training in another jurisdiction may be substituted for some or all of the required COTP.
Promotional Score Sheet:
COII positions are subject to the "promotional score sheet". Points are given for the interview score, experience, education, training (36 clock hour program relevant to corrections), and performance reviews. In order to receive points for education and training, transcripts and outside training certificates must be provided by application deadline.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate:

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual’s account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. Applicants are responsible for submitting their certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
Applicants who fail to submit a Tax Clearance Certificate will not be considered. When you request the clearance, it will issue you a Transaction ID#. The Transaction ID# is NOT a tax clearance. You will need the Transaction ID# to be able to retrieve the Certificate 24 hours later. You must then e-mail (or fax) the Tax Clearance Certificate to the recruiter listed below.
