The Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility currently has an Unclassified Technology Support Consultant II position open in Information Technology. This position is primarily responsible for supporting mission critical applications, devices, and systems and other information technology activities relied upon by staff at LCMHF. This position has a work schedule of Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Primary Duties Include:
Installs, maintains, repairs and/or replaces computer hardware and software. Provides technical assistance to computer end users for Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility, in the areas of usage and installation of electronic mail, printing, word processing, operating systems and other software applications as needed. This assistance may be in the form of in person, via telephone, or from remote locations. Installs, configures and maintains personal computers, thin client, printers, and other hardware devices as needed.
Installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment that includes, but is not limited to: facility intercom systems, telephone systems, electronic surveillance systems, and network equipment. This will include the network, telephone, camera wiring, and fiber optic cabling, and all related equipment required to make such systems operable. Provides back up for the Technology Support Consultant III in the event of their absence.

Salary Range: $41,870.40 - $48,484.80. This position is full-time, unclassified position with benefits. Pay typically begins at $20.13/hour depending on experience and/or skill level of applicant.
High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience configuring and installing and replacing software, networking, hardware, and connecting peripherals. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications:
Independent work experience in information technology. One year network administration related experience in installation and maintenance of PC systems. Comptia A+ certification preferred.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
To be successful, the expectation is that a candidate will be able to competently perform the routine tasks of the position with limited supervision by end of review period.
