Job Description:

This position is on the Fed-State Discovery Team in Customer Relations Core Process. Work includes daily customer contact in person and by phone in order to resolve balance dues and/or non-filed periods. Conducts collection and tax discovery tasks for individual income and corporate income. Conducts collection account management and customer contact in a professional and decisive manner. Research and analyze worklisted cases and prepare complex accounting breakdowns, proposed assessments and final assessments. Manage inbound and outbound call campaigns through the use of predictive dialer software, Mosaix. Process petition for abatements and requests for waiver of penalty and interest. Perform account adjustments, reversals, abatements, and/or assessments. Establish payment plans based on agency guidelines and obtain customer's financial information in an understanding and unintrusive manner. This position requires a professional attire and a customer service orientation. Provides informal customer education. Ensures that customer needs are satisfied. Requires a good understanding of all the tax types, codes, and regulations administered by the Department.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: KBI check due to direct access to Federal Tax Information in taxpayer records.

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR EVERY APPLICANT:

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. Applicants are responsible for submitting a valid certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. Your application will be considered incomplete if an ACTUAL COPY of your Certificate is not submitted within 48 hours after the posting closes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: One year experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and one year experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Salary:

$15.03 hourly; can vary depending upon experience and qualifications.
