Job Description: The Physical Plant Supervisor Senior for the Ellsworth Correctional Facility provides supervision for all construction, maintenance, and repair activities for the Central and East Units. Ensures that all projects are completed in a timely manner and that necessary materials are ordered and received with the degree of efficiency necessary to ensure constant continuation of the project and prevent unnecessary delays due to material shortages. Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and safety practices are complied with. Reports to the Physical Plant Supervisor Specialist and works with engineers and architects to execute design and services for ECF. Ensures that State Fire Codes are implemented and followed. Develops new procedures or modifies existing programs to maximize the productive utilization of time, equipment, and manpower in the upkeep and ongoing operation of the physical plant. This is considered a working position in all construction fields with emphasis in electronics, in-depth computer knowledge, and ability to manage construction projects.
Minimum Requirements: Five years of experience in building trades or mechanical building trades. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Performance Standards: Incumbent must have strong management skills and able to interact with coworkers, inmates, and outside personnel to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Incumbent must also be able to perform the Essential Physical Functions of the position. Knowledgeable in all construction fields with emphasis in electronics, in-depth computer knowledge, and ability to manage construction projects.
Journey/advanced level experience in the building mechanical trades and leadership ability at the supervisory level.
