Job Description: This position receives detainer warrants from various agencies. Prepares and processes Detainers by completing one or more of several different forms and sends a copy to the respective inmate and departments; also places appropriate documents in the master file. Enters detainer information into TOADS. Receives Form 9’s requesting Uniform Disposition of Detainer Act (180 day writs) and forwards copies by certified mail to district court and attorneys and provides copy to inmate. Maintains a log of request for disposition of Detainers sent to outside sources. The incumbent also contacts detaining jurisdictions upon in inmate receiving a release to establish a date and time for pickup. Upon receipt of Release Certificate and related documents, the incumbent is responsible for assuring there are no active detainers. Distributes sentencing guidelines release list on a weekly basis and updates daily. Initiates pulls and interprets all NCIC (III) reports for warrant and possible Detainers prior to release date and for six month and sixteen month out release planning. Contacts the appropriate authorities in the location of any active detainer found and arranges for pick up.

Starting Salary: $28,308.80 annually ($13.61 hourly
Minimum Requirements: One year of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Minimum Competencies: Applicant will be able to interact with co-workers, and outside personnel to establish and maintain effective working relationships. The incumbent of this position will demonstrate proficiency in customer service, basic math, knowledge of the operation of office equipment, personal computers and communications systems. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Necessary Qualifications: Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Excel and Word. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
