This position is in Civil Tax Enforcement/Field Investigation and provides highly complex/technical account management by reviewing and auditing account history transactions and performs follow-up research to gather necessary information on tax accounts. Establishes contact primarily with non-compliant customers who have failed to voluntarily comply in resolving tax deficiencies via correspondence, telephone calls, and face to face in the KDOR office and/or at the customer's place of business. Resolves account discrepancies through guidance and education regarding state tax laws, regulations, policies, forms and services. Initiates and enforces collection and legal action by filing warrants in District Courts, personally serving authorized agent(s), and seizing bank accounts and tangible property. Establishes wage assignment and payment plans. Conducts on-site educational visits and advises the customer of all taxes administered by KDOR. This position may include some evening and/or weekend travel.

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and two years of experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

$17.39 hourly; can vary depending upon experience and qualifications.
