This position is in the Sales Tax Segment of Customer Relations. Provides account management by processing original, amended, and additional sales and use tax returns, distribution of funds, remittance refunds and internal offsets. Review incoming correspondence and worklists associated with case and/or tax account periods, update customer or tax account online, adjust accounts by assessments or abatements as needed, review business closure process, and generate letters for additional information. Provides customer service on general taxpayer inquiries by managing incoming customer calls, obtaining information from customers, and assessing needs. Educates customers regarding applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Have a minimal amount of training on withholding and income taxes to assist with calls during peak season as needed. Assist each month with reviewing adjustment letters prior to being printed and mailed. This position requires a professional attire and a customer service orientation. Provides customer education in a professional manner when assisting a customer face-to-face or making a public presentations. Provides customer education in a professional manner. Ensures that customers' needs are met in a professional manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: One year experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and one year experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
