This position is in Customer Relations/Miscellaneous and is responsible for account management on accounts involving customers who are registered and liable for various liquor industry licenses, liquor tax types as well as transient guest, tire excise, vehicle rental, dry cleaning, water protection, drug tax stamps, and tobacco and cigarette wholesales. Provides guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems, or errors and processes returns, remittances, and refunds. Reviews the customer profile which includes all tax accounts and licenses for which the customer is registered. Prepares, reviews, and prints billing notices for various tax types which may result in additional account maintenance. Provides customers with information regarding status of records, tax returns, or other transactions and educates customers in person or by phone of applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Assists walk-in customer with registration and financial account management.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: KBI check due to direct access to Federal Tax Information in taxpayer records.
KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR EVERY APPLICANT:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: One year experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and one year experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
