WICHITA WORK RELEASE FACILITY
This position provides support to the Accountant II in the Offender Budgeting and Pay process. It also assures continuity of critical accounting clerical functions through a strong working knowledge of the basic functions of the offender pay process including Work Release Offender Budgeting.
Applicants may be required to complete a written and/or computerized test along with their interview.
- One year of experience in accounting/auditing support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the Agency.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications (May be used to screen applicants):
-Prior knowledge of QuickBooks or Quicken software
-Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) practices and standards
-Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records
-Ability to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately
To be successful, the expectation is that a candidate will be able to competently perform the routine tasks of the position with limited supervision by the end of the six-month probationary period.
