The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) is accepting applications for the unclassified position of Professional Geologist in the Conservation Division located in Chanute, KS.
This position will serve as a Professional Geologist /Remediation Geologist in the District 3 field office located in Chanute, Kansas. Duties include, but not limited to, assisting in the planning and coordination of district field investigation, preparing reports, and coordinating data gathering and studies of groundwater pollution investigations, studies for annual legislative reporting, providing technical support and testimony before the Commission and serving as backup for the District Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifiations: Bachelor’s degree in environmental, agricultural or natural sciences/resources and two years of experience in a field of environmental/agricultural sciences or natural sciences/resources. Additional experience in the biological sciences, agricultural sciences, physical sciences, natural sciences/resources, mathematics or engineering may be substituted for the required education as determined relevant by the agency.
A Kansas licensed geologist is preferred.
Salary: $50,000 - $52,000 annually with benefits.
