This is a management position responsible for administration of the fiscal operations of the El Dorado Correctional Facility. Manages, directs and approves the expenditure of budged funds, grant funds and local funds. Responsible for operations of accounting, purchasing/warehouse, inmate canteen, and private correctional industry recruitment. Prepares and develops supporting data and presents budget estimates and requests. Monitors the financial status of the facility; determines availability of funds to support expenditures; recommends increases or decreases in spending in certain areas; determines if accounting procedures are accurate and proper.
Two (2) years of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications (may be used to screen applicants):
Five (5) years of experience in authorizing and allocating fiscal transactions, budgeting, accounting or purchasing, including or supplemented by three (3) years of administrative management and supervisory experience. Proficiency in Excel or charting software to illustrate trends and projections.
Unclassified - Appointments to unclassified positions can be made by the appointing authority (Warden), with approval of the Governor. Unclassified appointments are at-will and are not eligible for longevity bonuses.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate:

A tax clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual’s account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. Applicants who fail to submit a Tax Clearance Certificate will not be considered. When you request the Certificate, it will issue you a Transaction ID#. The Transaction ID# is NOT a tax clearance.
