The Energy Program Assistant, under the supervision of the Director of the Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Division (Division) of the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC), supports development and delivery of energy education services and information to Kansans. The Assistant aids with development of energy education materials and project plans and schedules, assists with communication between Division staff and contractors, and supports dissemination of energy information. In addition, the Assistant engages in other activities in support of various energy projects and initiatives of the KCC.
This is a part-time, temporary position.
Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training in developing educational materials suitable for either adults or school-aged children and youth; demonstrated ability to gather and effectively utilize information from a variety of sources; demonstrated attention to detail including proofreading during development of educational materials; and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Minimum required specific skills include: Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education Requirement: Minimum of 24 hours postsecondary education or training in a business, management, communication, or related program.
Preferred Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
Demonstrated ability to develop and organize written educational material for ease of understanding by the target audience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and efficiently plan, organize, and participate as a professional participant in a variety of activities.
Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and attend to detail in completion of tasks.
Demonstrated proficiency with In Design.
Hourly Rate: $11.00 to $13.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
