Kansas Department of Administration

Offices

The Department of Administration has 12 offices that work together to provide a large variety of services to agencies, employees, and citizens of Kansas.

Office of the Secretary

Responsible for managing and directing each of the divisions of the Department of Administration.

Accounts & Reports

Responsible for providing centralized statewide payroll and accounting systems.

Chief Counsel

Manages the legal affairs of the Department of Administration and serves as the chief legal advisor to the Secretary of Administration, Office Directors, and managers.

Facilities & Property Management

Responsible for building services, design, construction, compliance, leasing, maintenance, management, and parking.

Financial Management

Serves as the central budgeting office, provides accounting services for Department of Administration offices, and operates a service center for accounting and financial management needs of agencies.

Kansas Criminal Justice Information System Committee

Committee that oversees the KCJIS system, a highly secure public safety communication system.

Personnel Services

Provides human resource policy, leadership, guidance, and assistance to state agencies.

Printing, Mailing, & Surplus Property

Provides mail services to state agencies as well as surplus equipment and supplies through state and federal surplus programs.

Procurement and Contracts

Provides efficient and economically sound procurement processes in order to provide goods and services to state agencies.

Public Affairs

Manages internal and external Department of Administration communications including contact with the media and open records requests. 

State Employee Health Benefit Program

Provides the State Employee Health Benefits Plan and the State Self-Insurance Fund workers compensation program.

Systems Management

Provides and coordinates IT services to the Department of Administration.
